Drummer With A Broken Wrist.

Yep you read that correctly. I’m a self employed drummer who has gone and done one of the worst things I can do. Break a bone. I’m fortunate enough not to have broken anything more serious than the wrist but it’s still very frustrating. 4 weeks in a cast. No drums. No weightlifting. No driving. No high five’n myself when I tell a great joke.

That’s kind of where this blog comes into the picture. I’ve had to give up all the gigs I had in the calendar which means I have a lot of spare time. I have always enjoyed writing (once upon I time I was paid to write), but over the last few years, I’ve kept my thoughts to myself. Now, I don’t expect this at all to blow up. I think I’d prefer it if it didn’t. If it did I might feel the need to write what other people want me to write rather than waffling on as per usual.

I’m going to attempt to write every day. At least until I can play and gig again, and then we’ll see after that. I figured I’d been playing and teaching long enough to have some interesting thoughts regarding the drums, music, performing, etc. So this blog will serve as a soundboard for all the ideas I’ve had over the past years, good and bad.

In the meantime, I can still teach. I’ve added online lessons and the 1 Day Intensive to my list of services. So if you or someone you know is looking to start playing drums or take their playing to the next level, send them my way. And if you’re wondering “Why you Connor?”, take a look at my website and decide for yourself.
